maybe i'll keep doing this when i dont have material (which seems to happen VERY often).
ok. so i dont know how to do the thing where you write HERE and it its a link. so i'm technologically deficient. but i did take the idea from http://cinnamonandhoney.blogspot.com/ . and made myself "it" in this eternal game of blog-tag. "7 things about me".
ahem...
1. as i mentioned before, i'm not very technologically savvy. savvy?
2. i like split pea soup. a lot.
3. chrissmiss-time is the best time of year because of the candy canes.
4. i have a prodigious collection of colognes. then i give a bunch away cause who needs that many. and then i smell a few that i MUST buy. this has been going on for a number of years.
5. i've had a coin collection and a cap collection and a watch collection and a sticker collection and a guitar collection at various times in my life.
6. i'm afraid of dying.
7. i remember most songs that i hear once.
this was a lot of fun. thanks to the aforementioned blog for the idea.

I like split pea soup too. I didn't know it was PC to say so since I always kept it secret. That felt good to get off my chest!
I like peas. Not so crazy about the split pea soup. I think it's the splitting part that makes it wrong. Dunno.
Weird thing about me... I am allergic to most perfumes (they give me migrane-like headaches and nausea... yes, pleasant) but I love most men's colognes. No trouble there. Dunno why... maybe it's like the split pea thing... yeah, probably not.
Hey! Thanks for playin' along! Um, "are you from Jersey???" (Hope you get the SNL ref!)
So, you can recall a song if you've heard it once, huh? Hmmm. Impressive. Wonder if I can stump ya? Promise you won't google? Okay, here goes:
"But it's gonna take money/a whole lotta spending money/to do it right, child"
Just was playing on my iPod... :)
hey SK - i just liberated myself from the PC-ness. now i can say whatever i want. ok. not whatever, but pretty close.
diane - see. keep the faith. i just need fodder for the pen. er, keyboard.
but no peas AND no colgone?! geewhiz. it's gonna be hard to go out with you. but we'll work it out. its have to be outdoors and a glass of wine then.
cinnamon - thank you again for the idea. it was real dry spell.
i am in fact from jersey. i've never seen SNL. i think i am the only person on the face of this planet that can say that. scary, but true. maybe that'll make it into the next blog. and the chorus to that song is "i got my mind se-e-et on you". sometimes the names of the song and artist stick. sometimes not.
Pick me I know the singer: George Harrison!
Back to JST:
Isn't there a celebrity that you resemble?
yes. johnny depp. but thats a story for another time. i don't think i'm young enough to be his son. but if i am, i hope my mother doesnt ever tell my father.
No, no, no... I love peas (just not the soup) and I love men's colognes (you are a man, right?)... it's women's perfume that makes me gag. So as long as you're cool with me smelling like Secret and shampoo, and as long as you don't wear the smelly stuff made for ladies, we can go out, no prob. Oh, and outside with wine (or inside with wine) is always good. I totally do outside (or inside) and wine.
Mmmm...split pea soup....
What gives me the irrits with remembering songs is trying to forget the wretched things again when they are cycling round and round in my head at three in the morning.
Split Pea Soup is an old school delight and separates the snackers from the truly eatin'.
Pearl
diane - yes i am a male. yes i wear cologne. yes its a fine idea to have a glass of wine. indoors outdoors its all the same to me. although it is a bit chilly.
lee - i belive the technical term for that malady is an "earworm". and its not plesant. at all.
pearl - howdy! yes. split pea soup always seems to work. no matter the season or reason.
You're comment form hates me... it never lets me leave comments.
It worked! Usually it tells me that I need to sign into Wordpress even though I am. Now I look like an idiot because the very first comment I write is me complaining that I can't leave comments.
I had a regular comment and now I can't remember what it was. It was good, though.;)
BFO5 - i'm sure it was. i'll take it any time you leave it. :). and wait patiently.
thanks for stopping by my blog!
I never have had split pea soup. But I LOVE LOVE tomato soup!
now what is your main collection??
hey lump! - (i'm having trouble calling anybody that name. i just am.) tomato soup is good. but split pea soup.....
the recipe is quite simple really.
two bags of split peas
3 lbs. carrots
4 medium sized onions
some garlic
salt
water to cover it all
(if you want to get snazzy, add some marrow bones)
then boil like hell
then reduce the heat to somewhere near medium whilst it gets nice and thick. (keep an eye on it cause when it gets thick it has a tendency to burn.)
its a meal all by itself. nothing bad in it. lots of protien. lots of fiber. and all around warm-soup-ness and goodness.
i dont like to measure and stuff like that so theres nothing exact here.
on to your query.
i dont have the sticker collection anymore. although it might be lurking in a dark corner somewhere. have only 4 watches, so that doesnt really qualify as a collection. still have many bottles of cologne, so that does. still have a bunch of caps (i cant seem to throw them out for various reasons). coins are prolly keeping the stickers company. still have some of the guitars. but not all of them.
so there you have it.
ok ok. it IS a long reply. but its my blog DAMMIT!
i love split pea soup too.. and a ton of other soups. i'm just not very picky about soup. mmmmm... soup.
no joke, when i first read your list of collections i thought it said 'crap collection' instead of 'cap collection'.. it made me giggle.
thanks for stopping by my blog!
CPM - i do have a crap collection. at least thats what they tell me. i mean comments like; "youre full of crap" "thats such a load of crap" "take that crap somewhere else" et al. it makes me wonder...
i also like split pea soup; but i don't really like peas; i used to have a candle collection (in middle school)--shaped candles and i never burned them; also, i have wicked music remembering skillz too : )
and look at you w/ all your comment love! WOW
CK - the "comments" is a place for me to blog without having to do the whole title-and-thinking thing. it's an easy way to riff off someone's ideas. kind of like a jam session (GAWD i miss those...). ok. i do need to start jamming and drum-circling again. i also had (and still have) a prodigious amount of candles. but i keep whittling the number down as i see that i dont EVER burn ANY of them. so much for romance...
dude--i didnt' mean you wrote a long comment in your own section, i meant look at the number of commenters (commentors?) you have : ) and drum circle? hmmm, makes me think of circle jerk and i'm sure that's not what you meant. i also still have a plethora of candles but now they're in jars or are cylinders not cupcakes, owls and butterflies. yes, i had THOSE types of candles.
ahh. well. i am grateful. really.
a drum circle is where people get together informally and pound out some beats. a very awe-inspiring and powerful experience.
never heard of a jerk circle. doesnt sound like something i would want to know about either...
No offense to the split-pea faction, but for me its cream of mushroomm all the time, all the way.
I always like when people list things about themselves. I was just tagged with one i have to do, but when I go to do mine, I feel like I can never think if anything interesting.
P.S. Did anyone tell you how to do the 'embedded link'?
lawyer mom - cream of mushroom is dandy, but it doesnt have the same punch. and for my occasional healthy eating hapbits, its chock full of goodness.
janah - i figured out the embedded link thingie all by myself. i know. i'm a friggin' genius. i even used it in a blog since then.
sorry, apparently I looked right past the bloggy award link. but i tend to have the need to squint at the computer these days so don't be surprised! heading over to read the poetry blog.
