pop, pop, fizz, fizz.....

thats what my dad always says after a day like yesterday. i wasnt alive when they aired that commercial. but its a family tradition nonetheless.

*sigh......*

i guess it was worth it. but this is the time of year where i get to thinking about going vegan for the rest of my natural life. i mean, do they feel as bloated and rotund as their carnivorous bretheren? i wonder...
and, i dont think i've ever eaten a leftover after the big T. i'm sure that puts me in a very small minority. but i cant see eating anything that i ate in such copious quantities the day before. its even nauseating to think about.
but some wine. yes. i think some wine is in order. i think wine is always in order. go figure...

I totally remember that commercial. Now I feel old... sigh. I don't like leftovers either... which is why I'm having pizza for dinner... with wine... lots of wine... because yes, wine is always good.

I think we need many more socially endorsed gluttonous holidays. St. Patricks day comes close, as does super bowl Sunday. Surely we can come up with something else. You've given me a great idea for a poll post! Thanks!

Wine is always in order. I ate leftovers for dinner tonight and now I feel all gross and disgusting again....icky.

There's always room for more wine.

diane - pizza sounds about right. if you can put some onions and peppers on that i'll be right over.

goddess - gluttunous holidays....sounds rather, well, gluttonous. but i'm in favor. especially superbowl sunday. i mean football and food. doesnt really get much bette than that.

stiletto mom - i dont want to sound like an alcoholic, but i do enjoy a good bottle of wine (or two). i'm partial to the reds myself. i've never met a white that i was terribly enamored with.

heinous - isn't there? amazing. but at some point i to have a bit of cheese, so that i can appreciate some more.

ok. i do sound like an alcoholic.

Turkey is bad. New or leftover. Wine is good. I think I shall have a glass or five.

I just found your blog and have really enjoyed catching up! As another one who remembers the commercial (my father kept alka seltzer in business for many years), I wanted to point out that it was actually "plop plop" (not pop pop). The plop came when you tore open the package and plopped the contents (2 tablets) into a glass of water. yeah yeah....i know - who cares, minor detail, but you got me singing the song so I wanted to make sure you had the words right! :-)

ssp - welcome aboard! plop, plop. shame on me. i guess i wasnt listening that closely to my dad. he would enthusiastically vouch for that comment...
