bed of roses (ok. i tried again. it's supposedly orange this time..)

by jon bon jovi

the lyrics are pure poetry
and the guitar work aint half bad...
what a great song.

i will have to post the lyrics for those that wont click on the you tube link
and i will even take the liberty of highlighting the ones that i find particularly amazing

and now that i'm done with the highlighting, i've realized that:

1. i cant see the highlighted parts very well at all because i'm colorblind

2. i ended up highlighting half the song

3. that last line in red is so amazing that its worth its own post

***************************

bed of roses - jon bon jovi

Sitting here wasted and wounded, at this old piano
Trying hard to capture the moment, this morning I don't know
'Cause a bottle of vodka is still lodged in my head
And some blond gave me nightmares, I think she's still in my bed
As I dream about movies they won't make of me when I'm dead

With an ironclad fist I wake up and French kiss the morning
While some marching band keeps its own beat in my head While we're talking
About all of the things that I long to believe About love, the truth and what you mean to me
And the truth is baby you're all that I need

I want to lay you on a bed of roses
For tonight I sleep on a bed on nails
I want to be just as close as
the Holy Ghost is
And lay you down on bed of roses

Well I'm so far away That each step that I take is on my way home
A king's ransom in dimes I'd given each night Just to see through this payphone
Still I run out of time Or it's hard to get through
Till the bird on the wire flies me back to you
I'll just close my eyes and whisper, baby blind love is true

I want to lay you down on a bed of roses
For tonight I sleep on a bed on nails
I want to be just as close as
the Holy Ghost is
And lay you down on bed of roses

The hotel bar hangover whiskey's gone dry
The barkeeper's wig's crooked And she's giving me the eye
I might have said yeah
But I laughed so hard I think I died

When you close your eyes Know I'll be thinking about you
While my mistress she calls me To stand in her spotlight again
Tonight, I won't be alone But you know that don't Mean I'm not lonely (HOLY CRAP WHAT A LINE!!!!!!!!!!)
I've got nothing to prove For it's you that I'd die to defend

I want to lay you down on a bed of roses
For tonight I sleep on a bed on nails
I want to be just as close as the Holy Ghost is
And lay you down on bed of roses

Ok so your fooling with us right? Because there are NO highlighted parts to this song!! NONE!!!

Or are there?? I am very confused at the moment!!

Good song though. And how funny you highlight the only line about being lonely in bright red for all of us to see!!!

You know Valentines day is right around the corner!!????

UGH!!!

Dude check this out:
my word verification is verses!!!!!!!!!

Pardon me good sir...you are not color blind...you are color enhanced. Mr. Cheeks is color enhanced as well. He says that only EXTRA SPECIAL people can see outside the normal bands of color, therefore necessitating the elimination of some colors from the spectrum. It all has to do with superhero powers and such.
Aren't you the lucky boy!

I love me some Bon Jovi (and I don't tell many people that, so feel privileged). The man is hot. And talented. And hot.

Oh, and the song is good, too ;)

Not only do I love Bon Jovi, I love his voice. The lyrics are so pure, but only his voice can make them come alive. Great choice. (My favorite though is "Always")

Bon Jovi provided the soundtrack to my college career. I was always 'Wanted Dead or Alive', somewhere. OK, mostly dead. ;)

...A king's ransom in dimes I'd given each night Just to see through this payphone...

How sad, I actually remember when it cost a dime to make a call at a payphone. Man, I'm old.... :(

Tonight I wont be alone but that don't mean I wont be lonely.

I think a lot of people have experienced that at least once in thier lives haven't they?
